It was and extremely wet Saturday and we had a rather hair-raising journey across Shropshire to get to the Gallery for 10 am. The Gallery looked absolutely fantastic, Mary had the walls painted a lovely grey to show my work to its best ability. It was a great day, I gave a small talk about how I went to Art College in my middle years and then explained how I went about starting a painting, moved it on and finished it. The Collectors and Friends seemed appreciative, and although I was a bit nervous, I could have rattled on much longer than the 1/2 hour. The day was taken up with chatting to people and, of course, to Mary the Gallery owner. I spent the day there until 4 pm and we then started off home through floods and tempest. A bit overexciting.
Sunday the next day, I was exhausted, so much so I had a 2 1/2 hour nap in the afternoon. Half the paintings have sold so far in the Gallery so, hooray. |
