Have just received new paint from R J Stokes of Sheffield (www.rjstokes.co.uk/). It comes in big tins, so I have only bought Titanium White and two small tins of red and yellow. It is a long paint used mainly with palette knives, it drips on the canvas a lot and moves in a more gluey way. Tube paint stays where it is put, unless you move it with brush or knife, whereas long paint moves in a long draggy way and trickles when you remove your knife. It is quite exciting and as soon as I have something to show I will post a painting up. The paint can be worked into so gives a great feeling of movement. I am mixing the new paint and the tubes I already use to interesting effect.
I shall be working hard in the studio trying to master the paint. I will also be publishing a pic of me in the studio soon, so watch this space.
